[Dungeon Keeper 2 Main Page]

Dungeon Keeper 2 provides several types of doors to protect your domain.  Some of them will be familiar to players of DK1, but there are a couple of new ones as well.

  • Barricade - Not really a door in a true sense, it can still be used to slow the progress of intruders.  Line-of-sight (ranged) attacks are not affected by a barricade, and allows your long-range fighters to wear them down a bit.
  • Wooden Door - These are the simplest of doors and offer little resistance for intruders.  They are, on the other hand, very useful for controlling access to rooms by your own creatures.
  • Braced Door - This door is sturdier and offers more resistance to intruders, but it's more expensive to manufacture.
  • Steel Door - This is the strongest of the normal doors, and will hold off intruders just long enough for you to mount a basic defense.  These doors cost more, and take more time to manufacture then Wooden or Steel doors.
  • Magic Door - The magic door cannot be damaged by physical attack, only magic.  The Magic Door has an intelligence of sorts, and will respond offensively to attack. It is expensive and time-consuming to manufacture
  • Secret DoorThis door blends into the surrounding walls, so that invaders have a hard time seeing it.  In all other respects, it acts like a normal door.
