OK, so they eat a lot, smell bad, and take up a lot of room. Don't hold that against them

Bile Demons usually start appearing as soon as you build a large lair and hatchery (25 tiles of each) . Good fighters and great manufacturers, Bile Demons are second only to Dragons in their overall value to a keeper. The only problem with Bile Demons is their attack style: At lower levels, Bile Demons release a noxious gas, which can hurt your creatures as well as any enemies. To avoid this, send Bile Demons into combat alone or in groups whenever possible. Your best bet is to make sure your Bile Demons are trained at least to level four. Fourth-level Bile Demons' gas attack will not harm your creatures.

Bile Demons are also great for disarming gas traps. If you discover such a trap, drop a Bile Demon nearby and cast Possess Creature on it. Then walk him over the trap repeatedly until it's disarmed.
